Summer Day Camps

Evansville Museum Summer Day Camps

Join the Evansville Museum for a unique educational experience for campers aged 6 to 10 years old. Our inquiry-based camps allow your child to explore topics in an encouraging learning environment. Take a break from the summer slump for an intensive day of incredibly fun activities. We make kids excited to learn!

Because we use inquiry-style learning, campers of a wide variety of abilities all get to have fun. Campers are welcome and encouraged to return each year and “repeat” camp topics – every year will result in a different experience. Each Evansville Museum camp combines art, history and science activities around that camp’s theme and includes seeing a show in the Koch Immersive Theater.

These all day camps are from 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM and includes a healthy afternoon snack. All campers must pack a self-contained (not refrigerated) lunch.

Camp Pricing

$40 (Museum Members) and $55 (Not-yet Members) per child

Extended childcare is available (7:30 AM-5:00 PM), additional $10 per day per child. Aftercare requests must be made at least two days before the camp day.

Summer Day Camps

Wed May 29 – Space Camp: Moon Mission

Prepare to blast off to the Moon! In honor of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, this year’s space camp will be all about our lunar neighbor. We will practice astronaut skills, eat space food (including astronaut ice cream and, of course, cheese) and we will construct our own lunar rovers out of giant cardboard boxes.

Wed June 5 – Invention Camp

Campers will be inspired by the Museum’s current exhibition The Art & Inventions of Rube Goldberg to create their own inventions! We will construct roller coasters, play with Dominoes, craft with Legos, and so much more. This camp is all about building and inventing!

Wed June 12 – Psychedelic 60s Camp

Far out, man! Come learn all about the (kid-friendly) 1960’s. We will make tie-dye, create our own kaleidoscopes, watch a Laser Light Show in the Koch Immersive Theater, find inspiration from artists such as Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollack to make our own art, and so much more. Peace!

Wed June 19 – Mission Possible Camp

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to spend a day at the Evansville Museum honing your skills as a master spy. We will crack codes, write with invisible ink, navigate a laser field, compare fingerprints, extract DNA from a strawberry and practice other things essential to espionage.

Wed June 26 – Disaster Camp

This camp is going to be a total disaster – but in a good way! We will construct earthquake-proof towers, protect our buildings from floods, sink some ships, learn first aid, and hone other survival skills necessary to thrive.
