Internships

History Intern Program

This unique opportunity is designed to give university students an introduction to curatorial work at a mid-size, general museum. The intern will work directly with the Evansville Museum’s curator of history. Students will gain experience in the exhibition process, collection research, and related topics with an overall focus on local history. The successful candidate should be familiar with basic historic research techniques, be able to accomplish varied tasks, and have the ability to work both in a team setting and independently. Applications are accepted from students currently enrolled in college and majoring in history. These internships are popular and are often filled several semesters in advance.

This internship is non-paying and requires 150 hours for completion during the fall and spring semesters. Summer internships vary in the hours required and in availability. All internships are scheduled within a work week of Monday-Friday.

Interested applicants may send a resume and cover letter to Tom Lonnberg at the Evansville Museum at lonnberg@emuseum.org. Please state in your application if you are applying for more than one Evansville Museum internship.
