Mr. Lincoln in Illinois with William Bartelt Trip

Abraham Lincoln historian William Bartelt will lead this trip to many sites in Illinois associated with the 16^th president. Author of the 2008 book, There I Grew Up: Remembering Abraham Lincoln’s Indiana Youth and the 2012 article “Where He Grew Up—Indiana Lincoln Memorial”, Bartelt taught social studies at Evansville’s Harrison High School for 37 years and history at the University of Southern Indiana for 19 years. For over 15 summers, he was employed as a ranger and historian at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial (two summers at Lincoln Home in Springfield). He was a member of the Federal Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission’s Advisory and Education Committees and served as vice-chair of the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
